Giant Lottery Balls Arrive At Hitchin Bus Station !

Is it a bird  ? Is it a plane ? , no it’s giant Lottery balls appearing at Hitchin bus station !! . The reason for this event ? – a new marketing plan for Bus travellers ? no it’s the Lottery staff trying to draw attention to a missing Euromillions Lottery ticket bought in the Hitchin area .

On June 8th 2012 the Euromillions jackpot was shared by two lucky ticket holders – one from Belgium , the other from the UK each winning the not too shabby sum of £ 63,837,543.60 each . The ticket holder in Belgium has collected their winnings but so far the UK ticket holder has failed to come forward and claim their share of the Euromillions jackpot .

National Lottery staff have identified the Stevenage and Hitchin area as the area where the ticket was purchased hence the giant Lottery balls at Hitchin Bus Station to raise awareness . Sixty local shops in the area will also display posters encouraging the lucky ticket holder to come forward and claim their prize – at the moment we do not know if the lucky ticket holder is an individual or a Lottery Syndicate.

The reason for the search  ? – ticket holders have 180 days to claim any winnings which gives the winner on 8th June 2012 up until 5th December 2012 to claim their prize however if the winning ticket has been lost the timescale is reduced to 30 days from the date of the draw to make a claim .

The winning numbers on June 8th were 5-11-22-34-40 with Lucky Star numbers 9 and 11.
